Alexander Milhomens ” I will be a crowd favourite as the new boy in town” Contender Promotions World GP

We caught up with Alex Milhomens – Brazil World GP Fighter February 28th – England

Q) You have been selected to fight for Contender Promotions on February 28th in England, how do you feel about this ?

A) I feel good about this fight as it gives me a chance to show my skills in another country which I haven’t fought in yet. I am excited to come and show Garry Bell he made the right choice with me.

Q) How different have you trained for this fight ?

A) We train hard always and I get influenced from everyone in the gym whether it’s from my trainers or taking little bits from all the different styles of guys I spar with. I am peaking my fitness and will 100% come armed with skills that will thrill the crowd.

Q) What do you know about the fighters you are facing ?

A) I don’t know much of any of the guys in the competition but I’ve heard stories and seen some clips….I don’t care who I will be facing it will be my hand raised in over all victory after I have dealt out some punishment.

Q) What is your prediction for the up coming bout ?

A) My prediction is a strong performance and that the crowd will be making noise as the new boy in town is handed the belt.

I am coming to win and I have no question that is what I am going to do.

A) Its really an honour for me to be chosen to Fight in the UK for Contender Promotions as it is one of the biggest British kickboxing organisations. I can’t wait to fight and win.

Q) How different have you trained for this fight ?

A) I dont have to train different for this fight, we have an very sharp scedule at Vos Gym Amsterdam, I’m sure you and your team enjoyed this last year when you worked here. That’s the way we prepare for all fights, no mercy.

Q) What do you know about the fighters you are facing ?

A) I dont know anything about the fighters and i dont really care. To be the best you have to beat everybody that stands in the way, styles, strengths, experience. I feel sorry for who has to fight me, I wish you both a quick recovery.

Q) What is your prediction for the up coming tournament ?

A) I am a KO Fighter, only a handful of my fights have gone to points, this will be no different. These guys are not ready for me, I am not going to fight more than 3 rounds in total before flying back to the Netherlands with the belt around my waist……..OSU

Main Event Fighter

February 28th England

Q) You have been selected to fight for Contender Promotions on February 28th in England, how do you feel about this ?

A) I’m Excited, this is my home show and I love entertaining my home fans. I’ve worked with Garry Bell and Contender Promotions for many years and it’s a privilege to be the Main event.

Q) How different have you trained for this fight ?

A) I haven’t trained different really I’ve just trained harder and smarter. In all honesty I’ve not trained for the Individual in front of me because he’s just a man standing between me and what’s rightfully mine. I’ve trained my own flaws and tried to perfect my all round game, come the 28th I will be crowned.

Q) What do you know about the fighter you are facing ?

A) I know Jack is training hard and that he’s skilful. He’s a fit lad and will be fit for the fight but I will be at my best on the 28th there’s gonna be no stopping me.

Q) What is your prediction for the up coming bout ?

A) My prediction is plane and simple “knockout” Im not looking to knock Jack out don’t get me wrong but I am gonna punish him. I think if he gets caught up in the moment and fancies his chances in close with me he will end up asleep before the last bell.

Jack Layton speaks out about his upcoming K-1 Title bout

We caught up with Jack Layton ahead of his title showdown in February

Jack Layton

Main Event Fighter

February 28th England

Q) You have been selected to fight for Contender Promotions on February 28th in England, how do you feel about this ?

A) It’s a privilege to be invited back again to fight on Contender Promotions. The promotion obviously sets a very high standard for itself and is taking massive steps to become not only one of the biggest in Europe, but in the world. I’m looking forward to being able to showcase my skills again in front of the top names from around Europe that are involved on the show.

Q) How different have you trained for this fight ?

A) I have trained differently for this fight. This is the first time we’ve had a real close look at our opponent and trained specifically for him. I have world class coaches at my disposal, of course including Paul Daley and coach Olivier Miipapa Pereira from France, who I have been working very closely with over the past few weeks. It’s influential people like this who have turned me into the fighter I am today.

Q) What do you know about the fighter you are facing ?

A) I think myself and Tommo know more than we think about each other. We had the opportunity to have a little play at the SuperKombat tryouts last April and have seen each other fight live a couple of times. To be honest I knew I’d fight him sooner or later so I’ve been building a plan to beat him in my head since before this contract was even signed. I know there’s weaknesses there I can take advantage of… but I’m sure he thinks the same about me as well. Come the 28th I will show him and the crowd what can be done with the right tools.

Q) What is your prediction for the up coming bout ?

A) Like I’ve said before, we’re not naive enough to think we’re gonna stroll into Middlesborough and put on an average display and take a close decision against a home favourite. I’ve fought on enough shows and am experienced enough to know that to win fights in this situation you have to stop your opponent. I’ll have to beat him to the point that he is physically unable to continue, take that big heart of his and beat the spirit out of it. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

February 28th, I’m coming !!
